Wow! Another Hop is here! Happy November FOLKS! I love this time of year. The leaves are changing the weather is getting cooler, I don’t have to run my air conditioner, we can sleep with the windows opened and feel the breeze come through. We are just weeks away from Christmas and not to mention 2 of my kids’ birthdays. The crazy time of year is approaching. Who am I kidding…pretty much all year is crazy around here.  We got another make over? Do you like the new look?

This Month I am sharing some Christmas cards from a recent swap I participated in. I love doing these swaps! They are so much FUN and you get some many awesome cards and ideas! Last month I shared the swap cards I made…click here to see them. This Month I am sharing all cards I received as part of the swap…I did not make these:). I still have unopened swap cards! Can you believe that! My life has been a bit crazy lately! Like most of us we all have a million things going on at once. Join my Facebook Group and I will be sharing the rest of my unopened swaps by the end of the weekend. How about a new one everyday until Sunday or maybe 2 a day….I am pretty sure there is a good handful or two left that I haven’t shared:)

All of these cards are from my fellow Demonstrators and we are all on the team Y-Knot-Stamp_everything! This is a late Halloween post so right now I do not have the info on the card maker but check back and I am hoping to update it soon!

Here we are again another month has passed. I am still trying to figure out this WordPress. In addition to still figuring it out I am doing on it half working computer. My editing of photos are lacking and taking a very long time as well. Hopefully I ll catch a break and can take it in real soon to see if the problem is fixable. If I was a computer guru I might be able to fix it myself but I am not experienced to take apart a MacBook.

We are rolling into the holidays and things are about to get crazy. Today I am sharing my swap cards I created for a team swap I participated in. I participated in 2 different swaps so I have 2 cards to share. I actually did a Facebook live and opened the swap cards, I have only ever done one other FB live so I need lots of help with that. You can join my FB group here and check it out.  I am also sharing some cards made by other swappers. I love doing swaps! It really is a good way to get lots and lots of ideas and all you have to do is make a lot of one card and you get lots of newly designed cards.

As I always tell you I am not a big time demonstrator so my budget is very little. I’ll buy a few new items and will often times have to work with what I have. That forces me to get creative and use what I have on hand.

The first card I made was an inspiration from my childhood. Growing up my grandparents had blue and green Christmas lights up at their house. You know the old fashion glass bulbs….my favorite! We still have some strands we use and those are my favorite. I really dislike the newer lights they have these days. So that’s how this card was made and thought of. This stamp set (Making Christmas Bright) is my favorite one from the Holiday catalog. I love that is comes with a matching punch. Ive been waiting for a lightbulb punch for years…since I started with Stampin’ Up!

This is my second swap card I made. This stamp set is so versatile. You notice how theres no light bulbs. This card is super simple and very duplicatable if your looking for a quick and easy Christmas card to make.

These next cards are all cards I received from other deomonstrators as part of the swap. I still have unopened swap cards!!! Can you believe I haven’t opened them all! Be sure to join my Facebook group and I’ll be sharing them this week sometime in a facebook live.

September Blogging Friends Blog Hop

It’s September! WOW! Its time for another hop with my blogging friends. This month’s theme we are getting a little inspiration from a picture, which I don’t think we have done before. Of course with this being September it’s only fitting to have a pretty fall colored picture. I don’t know about you but I am so ready for Fall and everything that goes with it. The cooler weather is already starting here, well at least in the mornings and evenings. We are still roasting during the day but I’ll take the little change we are already seeing.

Stampin’ Up! has a new Holiday Catalog that will be available starting September 5. There are so so many great new products. Stampin’ Up! really hit it out of the park with this years Christmas/Holiday sets. Although there’s not much Fall, Halloween, or Thanksgiving but still it’s so awesome! Starting next week I’ll be featuring some of the SWAP cards I have received from participating in a team swap. So be sure to check back or Join my Facebook Group so you don’t miss them:)

Now onto the card.  I love making pumpkins from circle and oval punches. I used the Gorgeous Grunge set on the background and to ink the Pumpkin Pie pumpkin.  There’s lots and lots of products that I do not have so I have to make sue with what I have. Sometimes that can be a challenge but I work through it and always find a way to make it work with what I have. I guess that forces me to more creative sometimes.

The other day after I had created this card for the hop I came across a card I made last Fall and once again here are those cute little pumpkins. They are very easy to make. First you punch out 3 circles or ovals. Then add some color and/or patterns, you can either use a stamp or sponge it on. I also like to ink the edges.

I hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend and hopefully doing something FUN,  I will be off the grid for weekend enjoying the great outdoors.

Repurpose Thrift Store Find

Aug
18

Who doesn’t love a great find at a thrift store?! I LOVE popping in from time to time to see what I can repurpose. This find I’ve had for a while and just recently painted it. My Craft Corner is always a work in progress and I just recently made another shelf for my area so it was about time to paint my Thrift store find. I believe this is a spice rack. I will use it to display some of my paper crafting items.

This post contains affiliate links for your convenience {which means if you make a purchase after clicking I will earn a small commission}

repurpose, DIY, thrift store

This rack was only$2! First I sanded it a little to lose some of that glossy finish to make the paint stick better, there is no need to sand it completely. So I went into our shed and looked over all the old paint cans we have and I think I ended up using Antique White….that’s the color we painted Bentley’s room before he was born.

Some major stirring around happened to the old paint as it was very lumpy and thick, once it was smoothed out poured a little into a bowl added a small amount of water and got painting. It takes me several coats and adding a mix of more water and paint to get it just right. You can’t really mess it up. I like the watery look as you can keep sanding it then go over with a drier brush to make the brush marks show to give it a roughed up look. After I get it just the way I want it, I add a clear coat. And VOILA a cute little shelf!

DIY, repurpose, thrift store,

Here is what my craft corner used to look like. Last Summer I painted this room and moved a few things around.  I am trying to make the best out of what I have. The forever process of organizing and decluttering. One day I will get there. I will slowly share the details of my craft corner and hopefully I share something that will help you get more organized! I have been using these picture hangers lately for anything I need to hang. THEY ARE AWESOME! You can get them for all different weights. Used a simple D-Ring and attached that to the back of this shelf.

You can use any left over paint you have on hand. No need to buy a new gallon or quart for a project like this. I am all about using what I already have on hand and I hate wasting anything. For all of my projects I have used old leftover paint and so far it has worked out just fine.

Hope I inspired you to do some thrift store shopping!

August Blogging Friends Blog Hop

YAY! I so happy to be back on the hop after 3 months! Welcome to my new blog! Excuse the mess around here…I am still trying to figure things out. I am not super techie and everything is different. So I am sure it will take me lots of time to get it perfect {is there such a thing?!}.

It’s been a long summer break for the kids and myself. The days are super long but the weeks are flying by. My summer to-do list is still very long. My creativity level has been a little low.  Listening to the kids all day bicker and argue and then having to play referee can get a little old and tiring.

This month’s theme is to “recycle.” We can recycle/upcycle an old card or project and make it new again, or use something else from home that we might normally recycle in the garbage bin. I decided to recreate a card and add some more embellishments and try and WOW it up. Make it a little more fancier!

I love creating cards like this one with no sentiment on the front. This is one of my favorite stamp sets… Half Full. I am a wine lover so this set will always hold a spot on my shelf. This card can easily be made into a birthday, thank you, hello, etc. card by adding a small sentiment. The plain card I started with I used watercolors pencils and the blender pen. For this card I knew I needed to give it more color. I love the aqua painters for that and the Shimmer paint is my favorite! Another one of my favorite things to do is to use the burlap ribbon as twine. This DSP is turning out to be a favorite! So many leaves…I love them all!

Hello world! And Welcome to my New Blog!

Jul

Testing! Finally made the switch from blogger. This will be a learn as I go. So far I am so confused so many options and so many things to learn and so little time to actually sit down and try to concentrate with 3 crazy running around arguing and fighting all the time. I am hoping to stay active and publish lots of creativeness and share lots with you.

April Blogging Friends Blog Hop

Happy April and Happy Spring! It went from 55-80 degrees in like 2 days here in Northern California. Pure craziness!!! I think I may have even got a little red from the sun out at my kiddos baseball games yesterday. Spring break is over and my crazy kids are headed back to school on Monday….Thank goodness!!! I had a photoshoot last night and boy were the mosquitoes out in full force. I keep forgetting to put the spray in the car to have handy at baseball and my sunset photo shoots…MUST remember to do that!!!

So this month’s theme is to CASE another member of our hop. I cased Libby Fens. I only CASEd her layout. This was such a hard decision for me, as is everything, so I made it a little easier on myself and just chose a layout from last month’s hop. I really wanted to use a set that I hadn’t used in months, a set that I have forgotten about {which is actually a lot} I used Life Me Up…love this set so much! I really don’t and haven’t used it much at all. My next two monthly classes will focus on items and sets retiring. We will be finding that out soon! I’m really hoping this set isn’t on that list!

March Blogging Friends Blog Hop.

It’s hard to believe its March already! It’s that busy BUSY time of year for us. Basketball is just about over and baseball has already started. Plus lots and lots of school activities and field trips. The next 3 months are going to fly by.

I am so excited to show you what I created for our Sale-a-bration theme hop. I CASEd a card straight from the Sale-a-bration brochure but then kept adding and adding tidbits to it. I loved creating with the Springtime foil DSP….so many different ways to add color. I added color with ink pads and aqua painters. The DSP is thick and a little glossy, it dries pretty quick and looks even more lovely in person. I love the way these turned out!

Let’s see what Michelle has going on today……
